Artist bio 

Norah Mayyan was born in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, known today as the southern region of Saudi Arabia. Norah lived in more than one area in Saudi Arabia, and her exposure to different cultures gave her a sense of commitment to it, especially the southern region of Saudi Arabia. She grew up with a deep enthusiasm for regions, designs, heritage, and ornamentation throughout the kingdom. Norah continues to explore the artistic language of Arabian, Islamic culture, and western art to create unique modern art and design. 

Norah graduated with a BFA in Art + Design from the University of Idaho, with an emphasis on graphic design and illustration. She started as a painter, but gradually shifted into digital art and design, which allows her to move flexibly between mediums. In addition, she creates installations, sculptures, and calligraphy, and she is also a children’s book writer and illustrator.
